Where is ride playland

Buildings were designed in the streamlined Art Deco style, while the grounds were pleasingly landscaped. The park opened in and much of its original architecture remains, as do seven original rides, among them the Dragon Coaster, and the Derby Racer, a carousel that reaches speeds of 25 miles an hour. Today, Playland also features modern rides, swimming, boating, and indoor skating. Live entertainment and fireworks are offered on summer evenings. I couldn't wait to bring my 3yr old to Playland this summer!

When we got there, the 1st ride of the day, I was having trouble scanning my wrist band. I asked the girl working at the fast horses for help, which she ignored. I turned around and walked away and didn't ride. The young man and lady working the baby swings were SO mean to both the kids and parents.

A taller girl dragged her feet for a split second and the girl working screamed at the poor girl, who started to cry. It was like the girl working didn't want to be there or she had enough of whatever My husband went into the office to talk to a manager and when I walked in the 1st of 2 doors the woman behind the desk said: " Oh another one coming to complain" My husband replied.. More negative things happened but I just don't feel like nagging about the people working the rides and the staff in the office.

The only people who have it together are the janitors. The grounds are spotless and look beautiful. Went with my family 2 adults, 2 kids ages 8 and It could be a beautiful family friendly park with simple inexpensive changes but instead is run down and trashy. They play the most horrendous, foul, un-family oriented music that it made us not want to wait in line listening to it with our young children. A few of the major rides were shut for no reason.

While the park was clean for the most part, I would Gladly pay a few more dollars per ticket if it means management actually set some ground rules and managed the facility.

Would never recommend going here, I will gladly drive further out of the way to go to great adventure in New England than to come back here again. They shoot horses, don't they? Spent the day today at Playland with three teenagers and they were happy to be there.

Two had been once and the third never. They had a nice relaxing time and that's all that really matters to me. Sort of.

The price structure and the costs associated with a day out at Playland have become an insult to even the most solvent among us. That's not chump change even for the well into the 6-digit earners among us. This wrist band mentality needs to be re-visited. And the sales booths are unbridled pandemonium with entitled parents and nasty undisciplined offspring in tow.

No administrative or parental oversight here at all. The midway is actually very clean with little or no litter apparent. Park personnel are always skulking around for that stray piece of gum or whatever. It was accessible in the 60s - I remember sitting there as a child with my dad eating a hot dog - I was about 8 or 9. Odd given that a police substation with three cruisers sits at the entrance to the boardwalk area.

The redistribution of applied labor needs to be addressed as the nasty and aggressive behavior exhibited by patrons waiting in line will eventually lead to very short tempers. Let the cops walk the park in full uniform and do the job like no one else can.

Get with it. The demographics that patronize this park have now been relegated to probably 1 and as a stretch maybe two visits a year. And that's kinda' too bad because when I was a kid we clipped and saved our Playland coupons all summer starting in May and might have gone several times during the season.

Each visit had a budget. One never felt the obligation to go on rides if a walk thru the midway and an ice cream is all that was wanted on hot summer nites. I'm not sure what the solution is to resurrect, maintain and monetize Playland Amusement Park as the business model is not something spent any time studying.

However, I suspect that forward looking thinkers would be very happy to acquire what is probably the most astounding piece of property on Long Island Sound from New York City north to Rhode Island.

To that end, as The Derby Racers round what could very well be the last final turn, would someone please put this injured animal out of its' misery? Or at least make a whole - hearted attempt to patch-up and revive.

Go just for the fireworks display. Well it's incredibly sad how this place has become so bad. It would be a nice place to take kids if it wasn't for the amount of low class people that go there. For example, i was waiting for a ride to take my son on with my husband, a couple of Jamaican women decided that they were going to push their kids to the front of the line.

Now it was not a long line but there were a few people waiting, my husband decided to speak up and tell them that there was a line, well of course they didn't like that very much and began to get loud and speak in their dialect. I really can't stand people like that and will avoid at all costs places where that type of crowd go.

I never had this type of experience at hershey which is much bigger and the lines are longer. Please don't get me wrong, I am not stereo typing people or a race, I just can't stand low class behavior.

I am giving them one star as the fireworks display was very nice and quite long. Showing results of Childish Queens, NY. Add a reply. DJtrinivibes Bronx, NY 1, contributions. Read all replies.
